Mimir Mentor started as a master’s thesis and is now used by more than 70,000 students.
How Mimir Mentor came about
The idea for Mimir Mentor comes from Robin’s master’s thesis. In 2019, Robin and Sven won first place in the TU Darmstadt ideas competition with their idea for automated text generation.
Others joined them, and under the name Text+AI the team worked towards one goal: making academic work easier for students and researchers. Today, Mimir Mentor UG (haftungsbeschränkt) in Mainz continues to pursue this goal.
The result is a tool that supports you in academic work instead of doing it for you. Mimir Mentor brings literature search, reference management, proofreading, plagiarism checking, AI detection and reference checking together in one place, for students, doctoral candidates and researchers.
Robin is managing director and is responsible for the architecture and the AI behind the scenes. Sven builds the app you work with.

No check finds everything. That is why we show plagiarism matches with their source and treat AI detection as an estimate, not as proof.

Mimir Mentor is run by Mimir Mentor UG (haftungsbeschränkt), based in Mainz, Germany. It was founded by Robin and Sven: Robin is managing director and is responsible for the architecture and AI, Sven develops the app.
No. Mimir does not write papers for you. We help you research, check and revise your own work, and you decide on every change.
Tools such as proofreading, literature search and a plagiarism check before submission are generally allowed. Your university’s rules are what counts: if you use AI features to rephrase text, check the guidelines and disclose the use where required.
For students, doctoral candidates and researchers, from term papers and bachelor’s and master’s theses to dissertations. For companies and educational institutions, we create individual offers.
